Emirates NBD, a major banking group in the region, announced that it will be sponsoring 50 widows in Saudi Arabia through Ensan Charity Association’s Kafalat Om Yateem program.
The bank’s initiative aims at supporting widows in their day-to-day lives and assist them in raising their adopted children.
The initiative was well received by Ensan Charity Association. The association hailed private sector entities such as Emirates NBD for their commitment to supporting all members of the community, especially widows’ families, and for instilling a passion for humanitarian aid among other members of the community.
Commenting on the donation, Loai Abduljawad, CEO of Emirates NBD in Riyadh, said: “Emirates NBD has strengthened its contribution to the Saudi society by launching a comprehensive social responsibility program, which includes a wide range of useful projects, in line with the bank’s overall CSR strategy.”
He added: “This initiative reflects our belief in the role of how private companies should contribute from a social responsibility perspective. It also highlights the importance of the private sector’s contribution to nation building and providing the youth with a brighter future in line with the aspirations and visions of our government’s wise leadership.”
Ensan Charity GM Faisal Almughaileeth said: “This generous gesture from Emirates NBD is deeply appreciated by us."
He added: "With a capacity of 40,000 children, the association is receiving ongoing support from various major companies in the Kingdom. This has helped us provide a better service.”
