The Taif Music Troupe performed various forms of folk dances and songs popular in Taif as part of the “folk colors contest” for artistes of various governorates in the Makkah Province at the Souk Okaz festival on Friday.

The contest will continue for few more days.

A major event in the festival is poetry recitation at open theaters. One of the highly appreciated events was the facility for the audience to interact with models of two leading poets of fifth century who once participated in the ancient Souk Okaz.

On the sidelines of the festival Thursday, a seminar on the impact of the elite on the new media was organized. A number of media experts in the Kingdom participated in the event. The seminar was moderated by Ahmed Al-Arfaj. In his speech Abdullah Al-Rifaei pointed out the difference between the old media and the new media.
