ALKHOBAR: Nearly 100 leading figures in the government and private institutions have completed training programs specializing in integrity and anti-corruption provided by the Saafah Foundation for Good Example in Riyadh, Jeddah and Alkhobar.

The secretary-general of the foundation, Abdullah Al-Nimri, said: “Saafah has strengthened its cooperation with regional and international organizations concerned with governance application in general, and promotion of transparency and integrity principles in particular, to take advantage of their expertise in the Kingdom.”

Al-Nimri said that the most important international organizations that Saafah is currently looking for cooperation with in joint ventures are Transparency International (TI), the World Economic Forum (WEF), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the Humboldt-Viadrina Governance Platform in Germany.

The secretary-general said the foundation is currently working to provide a national project to promote integrity in the business sector of the Kingdom in cooperation with TI, confirming that it is also discussing with WEF and other subsidiary bodies various projects for some organizations’ governance.

“Discussions are being held with OECD for cooperation in several areas, including the organization’s participation in the study of Saudi listed firms’ governance, in cooperation with King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, as well as OECD’s case studies for Saudi organizations winning the Transparency Award to be translated to several languages and presented as leading examples for the international community,” the official said.
