More than 6,100 Civil Defense personnel, who graduated this year, have been assigned to departments suitable to their specializations.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency on Friday, Assistant Director General of Civil Defense for Planning and Training Maj. Gen. Muhammad Al-Qarni said that the training program for Civil Defense personnel conducted recently was a success in terms of developing their skills.

He thanked Interior Minister Prince Muhammad bin Naif for his consent to attend the graduation ceremony of technical and service training program for the Civil Defense personnel in Makkah on Tuesday.

“The prince supports all plans and programs to develop skills of the personnel in various civil defense techniques, which is a key factor in the protection of the country’s wealth and safety of the citizens and expatriates,” Al-Qarni said.

He said the prince’s presence at the event would also be a strong boost for the Civil Defense personnel in general and the new graduates in particular to do their best in undertaking the tasks assigned them.

“The joining of this large number of graduates in the training course will increase the capabilities of various units and teams of the Civil Defense spread across the country. They would also help to man the new Civil Defense units being set up in different parts of the Kingdom,” he said.

Al-Qarni said that the training plans are designed and evaluated with great consideration for the modernization of civil defense techniques to suit the changing needs of the time. He said the programs are implemented in line with the highest international standards.

He said 197 new centers would be launched shortly.
