JEDDAH: Farhan Awad Hazaimeh, the father of Arab News Managing Editor Hani Hazaimeh, died in Amman, Jordan, on Monday.

Hazaimeh, who was 84, was not well for some time. The former Jordan security forces officer is survived by five sons and six daughters.

According to Hani, who was at his father’s side for the past three weeks, he was admitted to a local hospital’s intensive care unit after suffering a stroke. He was laid to rest after Asr prayer on Monday.
