RIYADH: The patrols of Mujahideen Management in Jazan region, represented by the Al-Dair Sector, foiled two attempts to smuggle 151 kg of hashish, even as 173 infiltration bids involving Africans were foiled.

Khalid bin Abdullah Quzaiz, media spokesman of the Mujahideen Management, said that the patrols stopped a car and inspected it after becoming suspicious about the occupants. “The patrols found 70 kg of hashish hidden in a fuel tank,” he said, adding that smugglers may succeed once but not all the time.”

The patrols recovered 81 kg of hashish during an inspection of another car, Quzaiz said.

“The patrols also confiscated bottles containing 900 liters of homemade wine. The suspects were handed over to authorities for legal action,” he said.

He said that the patrols also arrested 89 Africans who tried to enter illegally into the province of Jazan.

Meanwhile, the Border Guard arrested 72 Africans while they were trying to enter Jazan illegally.

The Border Guard also arrested 12 other African nationals who tried to enter Saudi territory in the mountainous region of Faifa.

A citizen alerted the security authorities after spotting the Africans who were trying to infiltrate into Saudi Arabia in the Governorate of Faifa.
