The Products Holding Company (CPC) successfully concluded its summer training course with a graduation ceremony for participating female students from King Abdulaziz and Effat University earlier this week at the CPC’s headquarters in Jeddah.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Faysal Alaquil, CPC’s director of business development and social responsibility, Maie Omar Binladin, deputy corporate social responsibility (CSR) and director of the summer training program, Walid K.Samaha, chief operating officer and Aisha Ehsan, a networking courses instructor at King Abdul Aziz University, as well as the training program staff.

“We feel proud to have females among our workforce. Males and females should be placed on equal footing in terms of work. Opportunities are available for Saudi women to seize. The number of trainees has been on the increase year after year since the program was launched,” said Alaquil.

The increasing demand for the training program confirms the company’s concerted drive to provide training to qualify female students for the work market, Alaquil added, emphasizing that the private sector should invest more in recruiting and training Saudi females.

The training program was first introduced in collaboration with local universities in Jeddah. Sessions were held at the CPC headquarters, the data and information center at CPC’s Industrial Park.

Maie Omar Binladin said the company embarked on training female students in engineering, architecture and other faculties in an effort to recruit Saudi female graduates and fulfill the Saudization quota.

“This objective can only be achieved by qualifying female graduates in order for them to fulfill the responsibilities they would assume in (CPC) and other companies,” she said.

Ehsan said that students were pleased and satisfied with the CPC training program.

“The students said the program was instructive and provided them with a clearer vision on what to expect after graduation,” she added.
