Eastern Province Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif will inaugurate tonight the Eastern Province Summer Festival 1434 at King Abdullah waterfront in Dammam.

Mayor Fahd Al-Jaber said the festival will include cultural, sports, leisure, tourism and heritage events besides fireworks.

The inaugural ceremony will begin with fireworks and feature programs including folk dances, parade of cartoon characters, car race and theatrical performances at the Green Hall in Alraka.

Husain Al-Balushi, festival manager, said the festival will have the largest tent measuring 4,000 square meters that can accommodate 5,000 people. There will be three big screens and seven different tents on a 50,000-square-meter area. There will be 150 volunteers overseeing the 35 activities each day. Al-Jaber thanked the governor for his support and the Tourism Development Council for partnership and sponsorship.
