RIYADH: The family of two children receiving treatment in the United States are angry that the Saudi Health Ministry refuses to pay for their continued stay abroad.

Abdulrazzaq apparently has a rare disease and Nariz is disabled with a hole in her heart, according to their father, Abdulhadi Al-Inizi, a local publication reported recently. Abdulrazzaq cannot be treated in Saudi Arabia, Al-Inizi claimed in the report.

Al-Inizi reportedly added that the ministry threatened it would not pay their bills after Feb. 16. He claimed that his son cannot be treated at Saudi hospitals.

However, the ministry reportedly rejected the father's statements, saying that treatment was only allowed for three months abroad. If three months was not enough then the higher medical commission has to issue a recommendation, which has to be approved by the health minister.

The ministry stated that the commission has recommended that the two children return to the Kingdom and complete their treatment here. There was treatment available for them in the Kingdom, the ministry reportedly stated.

There has been support on Twitter for the two children to remain in the United States for treatment. Some users posted messages calling on the ministry to have mercy on the family.
