RIYADH: As isolated clouds covered the capital of Riyadh on Sunday, the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME), predicted heavy showers with thunderstorms in the central and eastern parts of the Kingdom, which will extend to the southwest highlands in the coming days.

It also said that rising dust winds will limit visibility in these regions.

Thunderstorms are also predicted on the rainy highland regions of Asir, Baha, Jazan, Makkah and Najran.

Visibility will also be limited due to dust over north of the Kingdom which will extend to the Madinah region with low temperatures. The PME has not ruled out fog in the northern and eastern regions of the Kingdom at night and at dawn.

Civil Defense in Al-Baha region has alerted citizens and residents to take caution, stay away from valleys and flooded streams, and to follow the instructions and guidelines of Civil Defense in such cases.

The media spokesman for the Civil Defense in the region, Col. Jamaan bin Dayes Al-Ghamdi, explained that the command and control center received a weather warning from the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME) that rainy thunderstorms will form over the region, accompanied by active surface winds.

He urged all citizens and residents to be careful and follow Civil Defense’s instructions in such cases.
