Ibrahim Alsheddi, spokesman of Human Rights Commission, said that the Cabinet approval of the list of regulations to organize domestic help will contribute to better relations between worker and employer.

“The regulations address both the rights, duties and obligations of the two sides of the business relation,” said Alsheddi. He added: “This clearly shows the keenness of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to achieve the best interests of citizens and workers, and organize the contractual relations with the foreign workers.”

He pointed out that the list of regulations was under close study by the commission. “We found out that is in line with the recommendations of the commission concerning the status of human rights in the Kingdom,” he said.

He said the commission made recommendations earlier to organize status of foreign labor in the country in terms of work, health, education and residency.

Other recommendations included addressing the delayed labor cases and issuing final rulings on them, as well as organizing all labor departments in courts in accordance with the new labor system and the international agreements signed by the Kingdom.
