RIYADH: Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Prince Khaled bin Faisal bin Turki called for an intensified campaign to help Syrian refugees in the Zaatari camp.

During a visit to the camp, he said that Saudi Arabia’s volume of spending in support of the campaign has reached $700 million.

He said that the Kingdom donated $100 million twice; the first was during the donor’s conference in Kuwait and the other during a conference in London.

He said that Saudi Arabia fulfils promises and won’t resort to polemics with media detractors who have criticized it. He added that Saudi Arabia respects the judiciary in other countries and has not objected to rulings issued against Saudi nationals even on fake charges.

The envoy toured the divisions and specialized clinics at the camp, and distributed study materials to students.

The ambassador also handed over new housing units, which are resistant to bad weather conditions, to the refugees.
