RIYADH: In a step to boost e-government, Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman launched six electronic services within a month in his region.

The range of services, which will be completed in a period of 90 days, will be routed through the Ministry of Interior on the directives of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, to link all relevant departments in and outside the region.

The new integrated services were announced by the prince when he chaired the Supreme Administrative Committee meeting in Madinah on Wednesday.

The new services will also link multiple applications between the governorate and the provincial bodies utilizing the best software solutions to ensure efficient operations, increase productivity and also provide good services to members of the public.

Among the new services introduced during the past 30 days are retrieval services which will enable users to send mail to the governorate and get electronic replies from the addressee, and the videophone services which enable members of the public to communicate directly with the governor and officials in other provinces to seek redress of their problems.

The prince said that this service will save members of the public from having to travel to the governorate from their distant places of residence.
