Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal will launch a youth forum called Shababna in Jeddah today.

The two-day forum will focus on topics related to national, social, health and career matters. The events include comedy and entertainment shows. Chairman of the Makkah Youth Development Council Ryan Samman praised the prince for supporting the forum. “The prince does everything he can to support youth development activities and projects,” Samman said.

He also commended the efforts of the undersecretary of the governorate, Abdul Aziz Al-Khudairi, and the assistant undersecretary of the governorate for development, Hisham Al-Faleh, for backing Shababna’s efforts.

The Makkah Youth Development Council works under the supervision of the youth committee of the governorate, Samman said. “It was founded by the youth, to encourage youth initiatives in the province,” he added.

The governorate of Makkah has also encouraged young people to develop a strategic plan for youth development. They also have representation in the provincial council through the youth council, which has served as an incubator for youth entrepreneurship. The various activities of the province include the formation of the Business Youth Committee, the Makkah Province Youth Meet, the Business Leaders Committee, and the Makkah Youth Association for Voluntary Work, which is the first institutionalized and official project involving thousands of young people.

Many young people in the province also participate in the prince's monthly council meetings held at his house in Jeddah. The prince listens to their opinions and ideas, and offers advice and solutions for their problems, he said.
