RIYADH: The Consumer Protection Society (CPS) has warned that traders are flouting the law by selling tobacco products online, mainly to young people. Abdulrahman Al-Qahtani, secretary general of the CPS, was quoted as saying by a local publication on Wednesday that the country had recently passed tough laws to regulate the sale of tobacco products, including Shisha.

He said tobacco companies were increasingly using the Internet to sell their products because they can reach a wider audience. The Gulf Cooperation Council had in 2011 issued regulations outlawing sales on the Internet, which was ratified by the Health Ministry, he said.
