Police in Qatif came under heavy fire from an unknown gunman late Friday night while they were patrolling in the township of Tobi, a spokesman of the Eastern Province Police Department said. “Security officers then returned fire as per the law,” the spokesman added. “Saturday morning, police received a call saying a young man injured of bullet fire has been found inside a car. Police took the injured to hospital but the man died before reaching there,” he said. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
