Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has ordered SR1.4 billion in emergency assistance for beneficiaries of social insurance to meet their requirements during Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr.

Social Affairs Minister Yousuf Al-Othaimeen said his ministry would take necessary steps for the quick disbursement of the amount among the poor and needy. The amount would be deposited in their accounts within 72 hours, he added.

“This amount is given to the poor in addition to the monthly social insurance pension,” the minister said, adding that the amount would benefit the most deserving people including orphans, the elderly, sick, widows, abandoned women and families of prisoners.

“The beneficiaries need not visit social insurance offices to get the amount,” Al-Othaimeen said, adding that the amount would be deposited with their accounts.
