Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Charitable Foundation will continue to donate SR10 million annually to the fund for treatment of patients, Prince Khaled bin Sultan, chairman of the foundation’s board of trustees, announced this week.

“You might be remembering what the late prince said during a meeting at his house in Riyadh that he would donate SR10 million to the fund annually. On behalf of Prince Sultan’s inheritors I would like to announce that the foundation would continue to donate that amount to the fund,” Prince Khaled said.

He said Prince Sultan, a former crown prince, deputy premier and defense minister of Saudi Arabia, supports the poor and needy. He prayed for the late prince, invoking to the Almighty to reward him for his good deeds.

Prince Khaled also commended the endeavors of those working behind the fund, showing kindness toward the poor and needy and trying to solve their problems.

“The fund operates in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Social Affairs to support those handicapped patients who required financial assistance,” he said.

During the past 10 years, the fund supported about 6,000 patients, 81 percent of them are Saudis. A panel has been set up to improve the fund’s services and a study will be conducted for the purpose within four months. The study will focus on improving services to patients after hospital treatment.
