JEDDAH: All fancied teams scored comfortable wins in the quarterfinal of the Ace Travel Premier Division cricket league, sponsored by Ace Travel & Tours and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.

ICC Irfan Basha beat Kanoo Travel by 35 runs, Kanoo routed Ace Travels by 57 runs, Jawar Al Jazirah made short work of Zinda Talismat by 7 wickets and Deccan Knights sailed past Tamer by 128 runs.

ICC Irfan Basha put up 186 for 7 against Kanoo Travel. After the loss of early wickets Umar steadied the rocking boat with an unbeaten 50. He was supported by Raheel (24) and Amer (20). Waseem 3 for 33 and Ishaq 2 for 24 were the main wicket takers. In reply Kanoo Travel’s openers, Kaleem (18) and Arsalan (23) were off to a slow start but were soon dismissed. Later in the quest for quick runs due to high run rate required, wickets fell regularly and Kanoo could not reach their target although Ishaq (27) tried his best but the asking rate went too high and Kanoo Travel finished with 151 for 7. Nabeel claimed 3 for 21 while Amer and Rana took a wicket each for 26 and 13 runs respectively.

In the other match, Kanoo piled up 205 for 7. Sami put up a fine all round performance scoring 98 off only 46 balls and later went on to claim 4 wickets. Tabrais supported him with 48. Wajid took 3 for 25 and Hamid 2 for 24.

In reply ACE Travel were bundled out for 148 runs. Wajid (26), Mohammad (38) and Talha (24) were the only ones to offer resistance as others succumbed to Sami who claimed 4 for 34 and was supported by Najam who took 2 for 23 runs.

Elsewhere, Zinda Talismat set a target of 229 for Jawar Al Jazirah which the latter achieved with 3 overs left and 7 wickets in hand. Zinda Talismat scored 228 for 5. Irfan top-scored with 60 followed by Javed (29), Urooj (27) and Noor (45). Adel and Zahid had 2 wickets each for 20 and 40 runs respectively.

In reply Jawar Al Jazirah lost Asim early but Amer went on to score an unbeaten 105. Sajid was the other top scorer with 63 runs. Jawar Al Jazirah reached their target for the loss of 3 wickets. Javed bagged 2 for 42.

Deccan Knights amassed 255 for 6 in their allotted overs. Sohail (74) and Najeeb (51) gave their team a flying start as they put on 118 runs for the opening wicket. Later Athar (50) and Afsar (40 not out) propped up the innings. Anees took 2 for 47 runs. In reply Tamer failed to make a fight of it and were shot out for 127 runs. Anwar was the highest scorer with 30 runs.

Afroz ripped through the rival batting and took a match winning 5 for 23 runs.
