FBGR Selection and Ramon Chua grabbed the limelight as the Best Team of the Week and Best Bowler of the Week awardees during the 17th session of the Almarai-FBGR Sunday Bowling League 13th Conference at Universal Bowling Center here.

Almarai Company sponsored this tournament organized by the Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR).

FBGR Selection mentored by Mike Ecalnir defeated high ranking Team Irene of Dhong Yamco 21-15.

Omar Valdes led the winning team by scoring 845 and got good support from Jett Cabana 822, James Boyd 801, Joel Lambo 758, while Jojo Miraflor 429 and Benito Santos 369. Top scorers for the losing team were Jao Urbano 830, Dee Urbano 812, Stephen Solomon 773 and Shawn Ricketts 759. Vicky Vitug scored 630 in three games.

In another encounter, Thales Team captained by Ryan Iñigo blanked the Abdulrahman Ahmed’s Alinma Bank 21-3 and doubled its joy when its bowler Chua bagged the individual award. Chua drilled the high series of 893. Sparkling too were Cheng Lambo 844, Boy Mirando 715 and Iñigo 693. Nelson De Vera 360 and Aira Mitra 327 rounded out the scoring. Jobert Pomado top-scored for the losing team with 873 followed by Jess Ambon 777 and George Sto. Domingo 749 points.

IBG Storm of Ric Singson walloped Sweet Angel Vipers of Angel Caasi 21-13. Top scorers were lady Ian Choco with 820 followed by Arnold Jesena 813, Zaldy Torres 790, Ric Singson 776 and Thong Asuncion 761 points. For Vipers Angel Caasi and Fernie Ballano carded matching series of 808 points with Dawood Sereno on 763, Nelson Respicio 729, Glenn Dela Cruz 418 and Jun Balubayan 342.

In another match, Almarai Co. mentored by Jun Daniel upset current No.1 United Global piloted by Jeff Nierva 21-15. Carrying the load for winning team were Joel Batolina 826, Fhel Ramos 794, Doy Del Moral 758 and Alex Armada 750. Jun Daniel added 642 and Paul Decena 197. Jeff Nierva led the losers with 832. Jeffrey Sobrebiga contributed 774, Erwin Atienza 766, Joelito Santillan 729, Sam Dotingco 624 and Clem Ojeda 163 for United Global.

In other matches, Look Up Boys of Ronald Bautista gulped down Nadec Stokers of Lope Ramirez 19-10, Carry Over captained by Lulu Quejada crushed Ric Uruttia’s Proshop Strikers 20-8 and Alsalam Knights beat RG512 for Clothes of Yasser Mohammed. 22-12
