DAMMAM: Unbeaten Al-Ghamdi crashed to their first defeat this season when they were beaten by Gulf Steel by three wickets in the Matski Maritime Main League organized by the Eastern Province Cricket Association here.

A blazing innings of 156 runs from Ahmed Rauf along with Raza Abbas’s unbeaten 82 and Amjad Butt’s 42 helped Al-Ghamdi compile 337 for 3 off 40 overs. Chasing the mammoth target wasn’t an easy task, but every batsmen of Gulf Steel contributed to their win led by Qaiser (77), Asher (42) and Khurram’s (49 not out).

Another magnificent ton by Kashif Riaz helped Aims Bindelamah put up 346 for 5 against Gulflink TFT. Other scorers were Tanveer Hussain (50) and Mohsin Nawaz (48).

In reply Gulflink TFT were bowled out for 229, which gave Bindelamah another huge win. Sohrab picked up four wickets. Waqas Butt of Gulflink took three wickets and Bilal Juneja scored 49 runs. Zuhair Bukhari impressed with another unbeaten sparkling ton as Gyptech Dolphins got the better of Marooj Rawan by 3 wickets. Marooj Rawan 220 (Naveed Nomi 64, Muneeb Hadi 3 wickets) lost to Gyptech Dolphins 221 for 7 (Zuhair Bukhari 101 not out, Hassan Bukhari 45).

Al-Tuwairqi pulled off a seven-wicket win over Al-Dossary. Al-Dossary managed 232 runs after 40 overs. Wazid (75) and Akhtar (67) were the top scorers. For Al-Tuwairqi, Aftab Magray, Asif Mughal and Rizwan Qayyum scored half centuries. Abbas Hussain remained not out on 41.

Dazzling century by Ali Rizwan could not prevent Khobar Badshah’s from going down to Harley-Davidson. Harley-Davidson’s win was built around a solid team performance with all their top order batsmen making contributions. Harley-Davidson 324 for 6 (Yasir Mahmood 79, Arshad Mahmood 55, Tairim Tamake 41, Ram Ganesh 39 not out; Mohammed Asif 3 wickets) beat Khobar Badshah 295 for 9 (Ali Rizwan 105, Ali Iftekhar 62; Faisal Saleem 3 wickets).

A brilliant ton by Kashan Raheel and useful contributions from Imran Afzal and Mehboob Karim helped DHL Express to overwhelm Deccan Challengers by 44 runs. DHL Express 282 (Kashan Raheel 118, Imran 58, Mehboob 44; Syed Yasin 4 wickets) beat Deccan Challengers 238 (Manu 60, Abdul Qayyum 54; Imran & Zahid 3 wickets each).

AMPS Friends scored another astounding win over Royal Kashmir by 8 wickets with 27 overs to spare. Royal Kashmir 156 (Amir 39; Salman 5 wickets) lost to AMPS Friends 157 for 2 (Aqeel Azaad 62 & Muraad Khan 50 not out).

An outstanding innings of 101 by Muazzam Qureshi in company with his skipper Zahid Shuja who scored a compact 58 runs and some late hitting by Mubashir 48 not out, helped EI Plus Arabia score a 92-run win over Al-Bawardi (Shajeeullah 56).

Young Guns young brigade came up with another match winning performance after they routed Hyderabad Greens by a huge margin. Abdullah Ahmed was the star for Young Guns with a brilliant 114.

Young Guns 306 for 9 (Abdullah Ahmed 114, Arsalan Shakeel 52, Bilal 46; Raja Siab 3 wickets) beat Hyderabad Green 169 (Khalid 74, Ammar Anis 3 wickets).

Gladiators batted first and scored 289 for 9. Thanks to Sarfaraz Saleem’s knock of 74 runs. Later, they bowled out Tigers Academy for 222 (Javed 50; Talha Shahed 3 wickets). Gladiators won by 67 runs.

KLV AlKhodari beat Kashmir XI by six wickets. Kashmir XI 217 for 8 (Aijaz 60, Faisal 30 not out; Samad 4 wickets) lost to KLV AlKhodari 219 for 6 (Sunil 42, Khaja 40, Nazeer Pasha 41 not out).
