The King Abdul-Aziz Medical City of Jeddah ESC-Recreation Services once again organized the much awaited bowling event, 9th KAMC Friendship Bowling Tournament, last Friday at Iceland lanes.

The event attracted 42-strong teams that paraded in their resplendent uniforms. Acting Director and Event In-Charge of ESC-Recreation Services Ahmad Luangco welcomed the participants, guests and sponsors.

Consul Leo Tito L. Ausan Jr. of the Philippine Consulate of Jeddah was the chief guest and made the ceremonial roll of the ball to signal the start of the tournament.

At the end of the games, the top 10 teams for both in-house and guest categories were awarded prizes

Scalpelove Team 1 emerged the In-house champion on total pinfalls of 2,321.60. Led by Dr. Maan Kattan, with Malou Canja, Lisa Blas and Ian Uy as team members, Scalpelove edged out Jeddah Pharmacy 1 which settled for the second place on 2,319.30. Third place went to Desert Boyz 2,316.40, Tzinoiz team 1 was fourth place 2,307.90 and fifth place Renal Stryker 1 2,304.70.

Rounding out the top 10 were U&M HVAC, sixth, 2, 304.3; Laboratory Alleygators 1 seventh, 2,295.10; Healthcare Technology Management, eighth, 2,294.50; Boom Boom Panes, ninth 2,292.10 and Laboratory Alleygators 2, 10th, 2,282.3.

OFBC team 1 sponsored by Star Markets and led by team manager Rudy Jamon and team captain Richard Junio totaled 2,178.8 pinfalls to win the Guest category in the one-day fun bowling event.

D’Knockers 1 came in second on 2,131.40 followed by ZFP Bowling Club 1 on 2,098.20 points. SUCG, a first timer, grabbed 2,090.00 points for the fourth place while D’Knockers 2 snatched fifth position on 2,068.00.

In sixth to 10th places were ZFP 2 (2,065.20), TOYA (2,042.60), OFBC 2 (2,039.40), Philippine Consulate (2,037.80) and Forever Friends (2,037.00).

Among the new guest teams to enter the event held twice in a year were APO SRB, Triskelion Jeddah, PPO, IIEESUG, and Parekoi.

Individual and special awards were also awarded as follows: Guest category highest scratch scores men’s division — Mikee Protacio (Knockers 1) 201 Rey Capatoy (Knockers 1) 195; ladies division Fatima Jintarat OFBC 1 257 Fedelyn Tanjay; in-house category men’s division — James Paulme (Tzinoiz team) 184 Dr. Khalid Dib (Scalpelove 1) 178; ladies division Malou Varias (Scalpelove 1) 165 Mary Gail Mata (Boom Boom Panes) 161.

The Best in Uniform awardees were Scalpelove ( In-house) and Forever Friends ( Guest). The Best Team Representative award winners were Kristie Maria Golding (Tsinoiz) In-house and Anna Maria B. Chua (Forever Friends) Guest while the Best Organized Team plums went to Tsinoiz (In-house) and Forever Friends (Guest).

Reggie Berrano, a member of the Event Marshall from SMPII ( Sangguniang Masang Pilipino Integrated International), took home the grand raffle draw prize of 32-inch LED Samsung courtesy of one of the major sponsors RAMA Modern through Dr. Ahmad Zayed, CEO; and Bong Retuya, marketing manager. The other major sponsors are: Pinehill Arabia Food Limited ( TOYA) through Ali Tayyab, marketing executive; Sky Freight Forwarders through Business Marketing Manager Rene Quiambao, Girdano Garments and Fashion through GM for KSA Ahmedullah, Radisson Blu Hotel, and Western Union through Lowell Plameras.
