The much awaited cricket tournament organized by TCF (Tellicherry Cricket Forum), the 5th TCF FSN Champions Trophy powered by Al Jouf Tours & Travels was started in grand style recently.

Sri Lankan Consul General Dr. Adambawe Udamallebe inaugurated the tournament at Baghdadiya Ground. The colorful inauguration ceremony was arranged with all players of each team lineup accompanied by TCF kids.

Udamallebe told the crowd that It was nice to see all south Asian communities together under the umbrella of TCF tournament & he appreciated TCF organization for promoting the popular game here in the Kingdom. 

Earlier, TCF Secretary Mohammed Faseesh welcomed the chief guest & others guests for the function. TCF President Anwar Sadath VP expressed thanks to Udamallebe for coming and spending his valuable time with players and organizers.

Udamallebe and other guests were introduced to captains of 16 teams playing in the tournament. FSN Division Manager Afsal Babu, Al Jouf Travel General Manager Gulam Mohammed Rafiuddin, Strike Country Manager Tony Joseph, Hamza Royal, Siff Presedent Hifsul Rahman, Coco Coca representative Ali Abo Asi were the other guests that attended the event.

In the first match of the day, last year’s runner-up Nokia Tuskers was beaten by Strike by 19 runs. Farooq Ahmed of Nokia Tuskers was awarded Man of Match. In the second match, ATS won by 6 wickets against Quick Pay Techyorker.

In a thrilling third match defending champion ABT Cargo was beaten by Al Abeer Knight Riders by 5 runs. Adnan won Man of the Match award. Last match of first day was won by Srilankan Malay against Al Jazeera Ford by 9 wickets. Rumais Abdulkhader was Man of the match.
