UN envoy joins ‘Quintet’ representatives for talks in Khartoum to push Sudan peace process
- Pekka Haavisto joins ‘good offices mission’ to hear assessment by stakeholders of the political and security situation, and to share reflections on efforts to advance peace
- He arrives in Khartoum on Friday and also holds meetings with head of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, prime minister, foreign minister and civil society leaders
