Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, arrived here Wednesday at the head of a high-level delegation for talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, President Pranab Mukherjee, Defense Minister A.K. Antony and other senior officials.

On arrival at airport, the Saudi crown prince was received by Vice President Hamid Ansari, State Minister for External Affairs E. Ahamed and other top officials.

The crown prince came from Tokyo on the third leg of his four-nation Asian tour, which will also take him to Maldives. He has already visited Pakistan and Japan.

Mridul Kumar, joint secretary (Gulf) to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, has highlighted the significance of the crown prince’s visit to India, saying it will witness the signing of a number of agreements and boost cooperation in defense, trade, investment and energy.
