Gitex Saudi Arabia attracts global exhibitors

Gitex Saudi Arabia 2012, the 11th international information and communications technology exhibition for Saudi Arabia, has already confirmed the participation of over 250 local and international exhibitors from 16 countries ahead of its opening on May 21.
It is being held with the support of Mohamed Jamil bin Ahmed Mulla, minister of communications and information technology,
Gitex Saudi Arabia 2012 will run from May 21 to 24 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.
Aiming to showcase the latest developments and emerging trends within the buoyant Saudi ICT sector, Gitex Saudi Arabia 2012 has generated remarkable interest from the local public sector, underlined by the participation of the Ministry of Communications & IT, the Ministry of Interior-NIC, the Ministry of Justice, e-Government Program (Yesser), Riyadh Municipality, Technical & Vocational Training Corp., Commission for Communications & Information Technology (CITC), BADIR-ICT.
Furthermore, the leading IT event will witness the participation of companies from China, India, Pakistan, Taiwan, Japan, UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, Czech Republic, England, Turkey, UK, Germany and the Kingdom.
“Projected growth in the local information technology sector has been fueling demand for advanced IT solutions, keeping pace with the evolving business and lifestyle needs of people. Gitex Saudi Arabia 2012 will tap into latest advanced ISP solutions, card technologies and smart chips, consultancy and training, customer relationship management (CRM), digital imaging and graphics, e-business, money management, information management, networks and business communications, office automation, online information systems, security solutions and wireless computing among others.
Gitex Saudi Arabia 2012 will run concurrently with Saudi Communications 2012 — the 14th International Telecommuni-cations Exhibition which will serve as the business-to-business portion of GITEX.

Saudi Aramco appoints Mark Weinberger to Board of Directors

  • Weinberger, who replaces Andrew Gould, also serves as a director on the boards of Johnson & Johnson and Metlife
  • Weinberger was an active member of the US government, having worked across different administrations

DUBAI: Oil giant Saudi Aramco has appointed the former chairman of global firm EY (previously known as Ernst & Young) Mark Weinberger as an independent member to its board of directors, the company said in a statement.

Weinberger, who replaces Andrew Gould, also serves as a director on the boards of Johnson & Johnson and Metlife.

He is a member of several boards of trustees, including the United States Council for International Business (USCIB).

“I am honored to be joining the board of Aramco at this important time in the company’s history and world events,” Weinberger said.

Weinberger was an active member of the US government, having worked across different administrations – from George W. Bush to Donald Trump.
