DAMMAM, 25 August — About 55,000 families in the Kingdom can now access the Internet free of charge thanks to Saudi Aramco, which launched its new service recently. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Mashari, vice president for technical and information affairs at the company, told Arab News that the service was introduced to help families of company employees make use of the information superhighway. The move has increased the demand for computers and Internet-related devices in the Eastern Province. Mansour Al-Atiya of Andalus Center for Computer Services, said the sales soared after Aramco employees started buying Internet compatible personal computers.
