MADINAH, 1 September — A Saudi was killed and four others were injured in a major road accident here on Thursday when a car collided head-on with another on the Madinah-Tabuk Road, about 75 kilometers from the city, Al-Jazirah reported. Police said reckless overtaking and speeding were the causes of the accident. The injured were taken to King Fahd Hospital in Madinah. The Kingdom has one of the world's highest rates of road accidents. More than 78,000 people have died in Saudi road crashes since 1970.
