RIYADH, 9 October — A 30-year-old who moved to Saudi Arabia to save money to marry his sweetheart back home cut off his penis after learning that she had married another man, a newspaper reported yesterday.
Musbah, a computer trainer in Mahd Al-Dahab, 800 kilometers west of Riyadh, was informed of the marriage by his brother, Okaz daily said.
“I was shocked when I heard my brother telling me over the phone. I immediately went to the kitchen, brought a knife and only woke up in hospital,” Musbah reportedly said from his hospital bed.
He underwent emergency surgery to save his life, but the daily did not say if his penis was saved.
“I do not regret doing what I did because I will not marry anyone else,” Musbah was quoted as saying under a picture of him recovering in a hospital bed.
His full name and nationality were not revealed. (AN)
