JEDDAH, 15 November — Inspection teams from the Passport Department have announced that they arrested on Tuesday 132 violators of residence and labor regulations at a number of locations here. They included Umrah pilgrims and visitors who had stayed beyond the date of their visas. Sixty-three of them gave themselves up to the authorities after hearing about the raids, while the remaining violators were reportedly arrested at busy rad junctions and at the city’s markets, including Bab Shareef, Bab Makkah and Balad, said Lieut. Thamir Al-Otaibi, who supervised the department’s campaign. One of those arrested, Mustafa Bayoumi from Egypt, said he had surrendered to officials because he in any case believed that one day he would be caught by authorities determined to arrest all foreigners staying illegally in the Kingdom.
