RIYADH, 18 November — The Passports Department has urged all expatriates to carry their original iqama (residence permit) with them while moving about their town or traveling to other cities. The department made this announcement after discovering that many expatriates carry only copies of the document. The department has urged both the citizens and expatriates to report to the nearest passport office immediately in the event of the loss of passport or iqama. The applicant for a duplicate passport or iqama should attach a copy of the report from the passport office or police station where he first reported the loss, without which he will not be issued a new document, a department statement said yesterday.
