JEDDAH, 23 November — An Indonesian housemaid in Yanbu hurled herself from the upper story of a building when her employer allegedly attempted to rape her, Al-Bilad reported yesterday. The maid, who is in a critical condition in hospital, said she had no choice but to jump from the top floor when her employer started assaulting her while they were alone in the flat. The police are investigating the case. In another incident, an Ethiopian, Naeemah, who jumped out of a speeding van, was admitted in a Madinah hospital with fractured knees and other injuries. The young woman was injured in a bid to escape from the van driver who was trying to kidnap her.
