RIYADH, 11 December — Hundreds of thousands of civil servants began a 12-day public holiday yesterday to mark the Eid Al-Fitr which follows the holy month of Ramadan.
All government offices will remain closed until Dec. 22 and essential services will operate partially on an emergency basis. Banks and semi-official establishments will have a shorter one-week break. Private sector employees have four days. Schools are off from Dec. 6 to 29.
