JEDDAH, 19 December 2001 — Sami Khalaf, director of cleaning in Jeddah Mayor’s office, said some of the city streets will be cleaned with soap and water using the most advanced machinery, Okaz reported yesterday. He said this was to guarantee the removal of all dirt and filth on the roads. Garbage has not been removed from several parts of the city in the past several days. The official also warned that the licenses of commercial establishments, which do not adhere to hygienic rules, will be canceled.
