JEDDAH, 22 December — The Traffic Department has clarified that people who hire cars from a rent-a-car companies will themselves be held responsible for traffic offenses committed by them, Al-Madinah newspaper reported yesterday. Violations will be registered against names shown in the identification documents produced at the time of hiring the vehicle as per the terms of an agreement that has to be signed between the customer and the rent-a-car company. The driver will be summoned to pay the fines or will face imprisonment whichever may be the case.
