JEDDAH, 25 December — An expatriate stabbed another man from his own country to death and wounded four others, two of them critically, during a squabble in Maysan in the Taif governorate. The four wounded men have been admitted to the King Fahd Hospital in Taif, Al-Riaydh daily reported yesterday.

The fight followed a dispute between two laborers over some financial transaction. The accused man allegedly took out a knife and stabbed the other. Friends who tried to intervene were also injured.

The alleged murderer then disappeared into the mountains, with the police in hot pursuit. Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed ordered a helicopter to join the search operation in the mountainous area, which is not accessible by road.
