JEDDAH, 11 February — The ban on the use of cooking gas in the holy sites will be effective from 12 midnight on Dul Hijjah 1 to 12 midnight Dul Hijjah 13, according to Maj. Gen. Saad Al-Tuwaijeri, director of Civil Defense. He said the violators of the rule will be fined SR1,000 and the gas cylinders will be confiscated. In the case of repeated offense, the fine will be raised to SR2,500. Third-time offenders will be jailed for one week and will be fined SR5,000, Al-Tuwaijeri added. (SPA)
