JEDDAH, 14 February — The Ministry of Health has decided to use small ambulances, which can be driven through the narrow and crowded roads in the holy sites, Al-Madinah reported yesterday. The ministry also aims to reduce the mounting pressure on the hospitals by sending these ambulances equipped with the latest medical facilities to patients in the pilgrim tents. "The ministry has introduced mini-ambulances which travel among the pilgrim tents to treat cases which are not serious enough to need facilities of a big hospital," Dr. Adnan Al-Barr, director general of the health affairs in Makkah.
