KHAMIS MUSHAYT, 17 February — Police in Khamis Mushayt have arrested four Asian men for running a brothel. They allegedly recruited Asian girls who were officially employed as nurses and housemaids in this city, located in the heart of the Asir region.
Officials from the Committee for the Prevention of Vice and the Promotion of Virtue, who were accompanied by the police, had been gathering evidence of the gang’s activities at a residential flat after receiving a tip-off.
“The four Asian expatriates were taken into custody after being caught in the act of trying to persuade a number of nurses and maids inside a shopping center to join their illicit enterprise,” a committee official told Arab News.
One of the four made a dash for it and clambered over a five-meter high wall. However, the police caught up with him and he was taken into custody with the others.
Authorities later raided the brothel itself and confiscated a number of pornographic films and pictures.
The source said the expatriates will be deported to their respective countries after investigations have been completed and they have served whatever sentence is handed down to them.
