MAKKAH, 24 February — Eleven Nigerian pilgrims have died of undisclosed ailments, a medical official from the country said yesterday. Around 70,000 Nigerians are in the Kingdom for the Haj.

Yaluwa Usman, head of the Nigerian medical team to the Haj, said 11 pilgrims had died of natural causes in Makkah within the last week. She said 3,220 Nigerians were treated in three clinics set up in the holy city for various ailments.
