BURAIDAH, 27 February — Police have launched a manhunt for a driver who recovered from unconsciousness after an accident and went about threatening people with a gun. Al-Jazirah reported that a speeding car overturned on a highway, killing an occupant on the spot. The driver of the vehicle, who was unconscious, was rushed to hospital. As soon as the driver regained consciousness, he pulled out a revolver from his pocket and walked out, threatening to shoot anyone coming close to him. When policemen arrived at the scene, the man was nowhere to be seen. After a 90-minute search, the police tracked him down near a gas station. A body search showed that the man possessed a gun and a small quantity of drugs. He is now cooling his heels under custody, awaiting interrogation.
