RIYADH, 10 March — A Saudi youth awaiting execution at a Riyadh jail got a new lease of life when his family made an agreement with the kin of his victim’s family over payment of blood money and for his eventual release. The family of Rabie, whom Suleiman shot dead eight years ago following a quarrel, has agreed to accept SR1.5 million in blood money. They had earlier demanded SR6 million. A number of prominent personalities in the area helped the two families to reach an agreement. Suleiman’s family has urged philanthropists to help them pay the money.
