JEDDAH, 15 March — About 400,000 Saudi girls in Jeddah are of marriagable age, according to Saeed Al-Daejani, chairman of the charitable society for supporting youth to get married. The girls are aged between 16 and 30. He said his organization would provide incentives to encourage Saudi men to marry these girls. “Those who marry Saudi girls inside Jeddah are offered more loans,” he pointed out. A large number of women in the city have exceeded the age of marriage. The charity has helped more than 23,000 youngsters, male and female, get married during the past 13 years. “We have spent about SR230 million on this project so far,” he added.
