RIYADH, 18 March — The Supervision and Investigation Commission has urged the authorities to punish six government employees found guilty of abusing official power and accepting bribes. The six included a municipality chairman, his assistant and an expatriate worker. They sold 140 visas for recruitment of workers to two municipalities in southern Saudi Arabia for more than SR840,000, Al-Watan daily reported yesterday. The commission proposed 10 years’ jail and SR1 million fine to the convicted employees. It also recommended confiscating the bribe money.
