RIYADH, 22 March — Rear Adm. Fahd ibn Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Abdul Rahman Al-Saud has been appointed commander of naval forces, a Royal Court announcement said yesterday. Issuing a Royal Decree, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd also appointed Gen. Sultan ibn Aadi Al-Motairy, commander of the land forces, as deputy chief of staff of the country from April 14. King Fahd retired Gen. Talal ibn Salim Al-Mufdhy, relieving him of the post of commander of naval forces. He also promoted Maj. Gen. Hussein Al-Qabeel to the rank of lieutenant general and appointed him commander of the land forces. (SPA)
