MADINAH, 25 March — The Health Ministry has launched an investigation into the death of a maid after her sponsor complained that a Jeddah hospital had delayed in treating her. “I had taken the maid to the hospital after she had sustained head injuries during Haj. The hospital delayed admitting her and this led to her death,” the sponsor said. A hospital official said the woman was brought to the hospital without a medical report showing she required emergency treatment. The sponsor has complained to Health Minister Dr. Osama Shubokshi.
