RIYADH, 30 March — About 3,700 students of the College of Education for Girls in Madinah were evacuated on Wednesday on rumors that the building was trembling because of cracks in the walls. “What actually happened was that a student cried out aloud when a chair fell on her leg. Hearing the noise, other students panicked and started running out,” said Maj. Gen. Saad Al-Tuwaijeri, director of the Civil Defense. Two girls suffering from shock were taken to hospital. Tuwaijeri said the building’s structure appeared to be sound. (SPA)
