JEDDAH, 31 March — Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed will open a COMDEX Saudi 2002 exhibition, as part of the Saudi Technology Week, at the Jeddah International Exhibition Center today. The show, organized by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is open to the public for four days from tomorrow.
Over 250 companies, both national and international, are taking part, including a dozen Palestinian firms led by Palestinian Information Technology Authority. First-time participants include nine Korean companies.
Modern Electronics (ME), a branch of Al-Faisaliah Group Holding Co. and the sole distributor of Sony products in the Kingdom, is displaying a new generation of electronics, including the "world’s first entertainment robot AIBO."
According to Tadashi Endo, general manager sales, marketing and distribution of ME/Sony, AIBO is for display only. Designed with its own set of emotions, senses and unique personality to show a totally new dimension of fun and entertainment, AIBO is set to become one of the highlights of the show.
