RIYADH, 4 April — Officials from the Ministry of Information on Sunday raided a warehouse belonging to a video shop in downtown Riyadh and seized more than 23,000 pirated copies of videotapes. A committee dealing with the violations of the intellectual property rights will investigate the case and punish the offenders, said Misfar Al-Misfar, assistant undersecretary for internal information at the ministry. He said more than 300,000 pirated videotapes were destroyed last year in the wake of a nationwide campaign. (SPA)
