TAIF, 22 April — The Ministry of Communications has launched an inquiry into the causes of frequent accidents on the Taif-Abha Road after a major accident on the road last Thursday. Seven people were killed and seven others seriously injured in the accident when their van crashed into a concrete barrier. The ministry’s branch office here had recommended that the single-lane road be widened. The average traffic on this road is estimated at 10,000 vehicles a day.
